That's Worth the Money in the Bank.
Keep on Running
You may have seen Liah Brown running all over West Peckham and surrounding villages. Not only does she love running, she’s also been training for the London Marathon. Along the way, Liah has been raising money for the Evelina Children’s Hospital. We were proud to support her at the Swan by hosting a Rock and Roll Bingo night, with all proceeds going towards her fundraising goal, which she absolutely smashed.
Disaster
Just weeks before the marathon, during her final long distance training run, Liah injured her hamstring. After lots of physiotherapy, she was advised to take it easy, but determined not to let anyone down, this brave young woman still took to the start line on 26 April, with 26 miles ahead of her and a target of around four hours. Despite the setback, Liah completed the marathon in an incredible 5:03:21. A truly outstanding achievement considering the pain she endured both before and during the race.
